Aeschbach Chocolatier has long been our family’s favorite stop for authentic Swiss chocolate. Founded in Zug by Charles Aeschbach in 1972, the business has grown to include a few retail shops and an interactive factory in Root, Lucerne. While the factory makes for a fun day trip, the Zug boutique is our regular go-to for high-quality treats.
What to Try at Aeschbach Chocolatier Zug
The boutique features a wide range of handcrafted pralines, confections, and gifts:
- Kids’ picks: My children love the classic milk chocolate red ladybugs and the chocolate coins.
- My recommendation: The Cirolloro Grand Cru 66% dark chocolate bar—smooth, balanced, and rich.
- Sweet treats: Grab fresh chocolate-covered fruit or a cup of artisan ice cream.
- Gifts: Fresh pralines, Grand Cru bars, novelty chocolate figures, and seasonal gift boxes.
The staff are welcoming, patient, and always ready to help guide your selections.
Convenient Central Location
Konditorei Aeschbach Chocolatier AG recently moved into the Neustadt Passage, less than a five-minute walk from the Zug main train station (Zug Bahnhof). It is an easy, quick stop whether you are commuting or touring the city.
Bonus Stop: Käse Dubach Next Door
Directly next door in the Neustadt Passage is Käse Dubach, another local staple. We always stop here to purchase artisanal Swiss cheeses, including excellent Raclette and fondue mixes.
