Sattel-Hochstuckli offers an incredible mountain experience for families, combining breathtaking views with exciting attractions. We visited during the summer and look forward to exploring during the winter months. Check the website for open facilities and conditions.

The journey begins with a unique revolving cable car that turns twice during the ascent, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Each cable car can hold up to 8 adults. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved quickly as there were several cable cars continuously going up and down the mountain. Make sure to bring your half-fare card for discounted tickets. Unfortunately, there is no discount with the kids junior card.

Once you arrive at Mostelberg (1,200m), the mountain boasts several must-try activities. One of the highlights is the thrilling Skywalk Suspension Bridge, a heart-pounding 374-meter structure suspended 58 meters above ground. As you cross, you’ll be treated to stunning views while feeling the bridge bounce and sway. It’s an unforgettable experience, but be aware it can be daunting.

For those seeking a bit of speed, the tubing slide is a fantastic option. This 120-meter track allows kids to spin and slide down on inner tubes, providing endless fun. A convenient magic carpet brings riders back to the top, making it easy to enjoy multiple runs. Although we didn’t get a chance to try the summer toboggan run, it looked incredibly fun and is definitely on our list for our next visit. Younger children can enjoy a large bouncy castle fun park designed for kids aged 2-12. While we opted to skip this in favor of other activities, it’s a great option for families looking for some soft play entertainment. There is a fee to do the tubing slide, toboggan ride, and bouncy castle fun park. The area also features several hiking trails suitable for all skill levels.

After a day filled with adventure, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at one of the mountain’s restaurants, Berggasthaus Herrenboden. Despite the busy weekend, we managed to secure a table on the sun terrace where we savored schnitzel and bratwurst. The restaurant even offers child-sized portions of schnitzel, which was perfect for our little ones.

For those planning to visit, it’s worth noting that there is a large parking lot at the cable car station. We arrived around noon and were one of the last cars to find a space, so I recommend getting there early to avoid crowds. In summary, Sattel-Hochstuckli is a perfect destination for families seeking mountain adventures and outdoor fun. With its thrilling attractions and stunning scenery, it promises an unforgettable experience that will keep everyone entertained!
