If you’re looking for a sweet Easter family adventure in Switzerland, look no further than the Aeschbach Chocolatier in Root, just between Lucerne and Zug. In the weeks leading up to Easter, Aeschbach hosts a chocolate bunny decorating event. We have done this for 2 years, and the kids always enjoy it.

The event is hosted in a temporary building in the parking lot of the factory. The Easter bunny greets kids as they arrive and takes pictures with the family. Afterwards, each participant is provided a 180g milk chocolate bunny to decorate. There is melted white and milk chocolate that can be used as “glue” to stick on a variety of candies to decorate the bunny. This is something even little kids can do (with a little parent help). This takes around 30 minutes depending on the little artist. After the bunny is decorated, the staff will take it to dry and package to bring home. The price per person is 25CHF and it comes with a 5CHF voucher to use in the ChocoWelt, ChocoBoutique or the ChocoCafé. For a list of dates and times, check the Aeschbach Chocolatier website and book your tickets.

Aeschbach Chocolatier is one of our favorite Swiss chocolate factories. During your visit, guests can tour the ChocoWelt to learn about the art of making chocolate and eat as many chocolate samples as possible. There is the ChocoBoutique where you can stock up on Easter chocolate. Also, guests can relax with a drink, treat, or meal at the ChocoCafé. The factory is just 10-15 min by train or car (free parking) from Lucerne. Every time our family leaves Aeschbach Chocolatier, we have full bellies, big smiles, and some delicious souvenirs. The Aeschbach Chocolatier is truly a sweet spot for making Easter memories that will last long after the chocolate is gone!
