Our family recently embarked on a relaxing 1.5-hour roundtrip cruise on Lake Uri, the southern section of Lake Lucerne. Starting from the charming town of Brunnen, the boat journeyed to Flüelen and back, offering breathtaking views of the fjord-like landscape and towering Swiss Alps. The trip included a few stops along the way, adding to its charm.

Tickets and Seating Options
Tickets can be purchased online, at the Brunnen ticket counter, or even onboard. Discounts are available for Half-Fare and Junior Card holders. We opted for first-class seating, which allowed us access to the upper deck—a quieter and less crowded space perfect for enjoying panoramic views.

Dining and Kid-Friendly Features
While the onboard restaurant offers a kids menu and baby chairs, we packed a picnic to enjoy outside on the deck. This was a great choice as it kept our little ones entertained while soaking in the fresh mountain air.

Scenic Views and Activities
The stunning mountain scenery was a highlight for everyone. The kids loved watching windsurfers glide across the lake and sitting on the front deck feeling the wind in their hair. To keep them engaged during the last stretch of the trip, I brought along activity books—which was helpful as they both started to get restless.

Exploring Brunnen
Parking was easy at “Gemeinde Parkplatz,” but Brunnen is also accessible by train. After the cruise, consider strolling along the lakefront and treating yourselves to ice cream at Gelateria Artigiana. For more information click here. This cruise was an ideal blend of relaxation and adventure, making it a memorable experience for both adults and kids!
