Lindt Home of Chocolate is a destination for any chocolate lover. Guests are greeted by a chocolate fountain over 9 meters tall, containing 1,400 kg of real chocolate. This interactive museum offers a delightful experience for families, combining history, education, and indulgence in the world of Swiss chocolate.
Book a guided tour of the chocolate museum. Explore the origins of chocolate and its journey through Europe using an audio guide available in the language of your choice. The museum features exhibits on Swiss chocolate pioneers and the chocolate-making process. There are many interactive stations that are engaging for children. At the end of the tour, enjoy various chocolate samples: taste the chocolate fountain, sample a variety of chocolate bar flavors, and finally, the famous Lindt chocolate balls. This is my favorite part of the tour.
Chocolate courses can be booked through their website, and guests have the opportunity to engage in hands-on chocolate-making sessions with Lindt Chocolatiers. Seasonal courses are available, and I have participated in a Chocolate Christmas course, which was very special. There is an age limit, and kids can participate. Keep in mind that the course has a time limit and requires some coordination. I don’t think my children (aged 7 and 3) would have the patience to make a chocolate Lindt bear, but my seven-year-old would do well making chocolate bars. Check out the courses they offer online; weekend courses tend to sell out more quickly.
Additionally, guests can visit the large Lindt shop and the café. There is a large selection in the store, including fresh chocolate. The café offers a wide range of treats, sandwiches, and beverages.
The Lindt Home of Chocolate is easily accessible from Zurich by car, ferry, or public transit. There is a large parking garage under the facility. Free lockers and stroller parking are available. Tickets can be purchased online for the tour or courses. While tickets can be purchased onsite, they may be sold out upon arrival.
