If you’re walking around old town Zurich on a warm day, a must-visit destination for any chocolate lover is Vittorio Vanini—Swiss Chocolate since 1871. Vittorio Vanini is renowned for its high-quality Swiss chocolates, including truffles, pralines, and large slabs of chocolate. What truly sets Vanini apart, however, is its artisanal gelato. My son loved the pistachio flavor, while my daughter delighted in the milk chocolate. I had the dark chocolate gelato, which was rich and creamy and is now my new favorite ice cream in Zurich. Situated along the Limmat River, Vittorio Vanini is perfectly positioned for a family stroll. There are park benches along the river to the left and across the street from the shop—a perfect place to enjoy your gelato and take in the views.
