Tucked away near Zurich, Türlersee offers a serene escape perfect for family outings in nature. This small lake, nestled in a quiet valley, feels worlds apart from bustling city life, yet remains conveniently close.

Enjoy a leisurely 4km (~2mi) loop walk around the lake, which is especially beautiful during winter with snow-covered paths. It took us 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete the loop in winter with a sturdy stroller. The path is mainly flat with a few hill areas. The surrounding forests offer a chance to be in nature, spot local wildlife, and enjoy the tranquility of the area. Entrance to the loop trail is free, with parking available at Parkplatz Türlen.

During warmer months, the lake is ideal for swimming and picnics, providing a fun-filled day for kids. SUPs can be rented next to the lakeside, and it’s a very calm lake. In summer, there is an entrance fee at the Türlersee Campground, and there are designated parking areas. We enjoy bringing a big blanket to spread on the grassy area in front of the lakeside for a picnic. There is a diving board and platform to jump in, but there isn’t a gentle slope like a beach to enter, which can make it a bit more difficult to navigate if you don’t have strong swimmers.

Türlersee offers something for every family member, making it a great destination for those seeking a peaceful outdoor experience.
