This fall, our family had a delightful experience at the Lozärner Määs, Lucerne’s traditional Autumn Fair. Nestled beside the main train station and Lake Lucerne, the fair features a vibrant mix of amusement rides, food stalls, and market shops.

We started our adventure with the amusement rides which range from big thrills to more gentle rides for little ones. A ticket must be purchased for each ride, and most attractions only accept cash. It can get pricey so we assessed all the rides before choosing our top choices. The Swiss Wheel was a highlight, and it is Switzerland’s tallest Ferris wheel at 46 meters. The breathtaking views made it worth the cost, especially since we enjoyed five rotations!

The fair’s food stalls were a hit with the kids, especially the cotton candy. We took a break at the cozy Swiss Chalet for lunch, enjoying some yummy food in the comfort of sit down tables in the back of the chalet.

While we primarily focused on rides and snacks, there were plenty of arcade games to try. Additionally, over 100 market stalls offered everything from cheese to handcrafted jewelry, perfect for browsing.

Reaching the fair was easy; just a five-minute walk from the main train station. For those driving, several underground parking options are available. The Lozärner Määs truly captures the spirit of autumn in Lucerne, making it a must-visit for families looking for a fun family experience.
