Jurassic World: The Exhibition in Basel

Jurassic World: The Exhibition in Basel was an unforgettable family experience. This immersive show brings the magic of the Jurassic Park movies to life with realistic dinosaurs and interactive exhibits.

Tickets can be pricey, but we managed to get a discount using our COOP card and opted for the Family ticket package (discount for 4 tickets). For our dinosaur-loving son, it was worth it.

The exhibition features life-size dinosaurs and interactive stations. Our kids enjoyed petting baby dinosaurs, exploring a dinosaur egg lab, and participating in a dinosaur dig. A highlight was helping train a baby raptor. The experience was in German, but the staff was very kind to answer my enthusiastic son’s questions in English. Encountering the T-Rex was intense for some children due to dramatic effects like the lighting and sound. My kids enjoyed it, but some children in our group cried. The whole experience took about 1 hour.

At the end of the tour, there’s a gift shop with souvenirs like stuffed animals and t-shirts. You can also purchase photos taken during the tour and have magnets or key chains made from the photos. Strollers aren’t allowed inside, but there are parking areas for them. Lockers and coat racks are available, and backpacks are permitted.

The exhibition is accessible via public transport or by parking at “Parkhaus Messe Basel.” We visited on a weekday afternoon; by 3 PM, there was a queue for parking. Overall, this exhibition is a must-visit for families, especially those with young dinosaur enthusiasts!
