Fronalpstock Panorama Trail is an easy loop hike with breathtaking views of Lake Lucerne and the alps. The trail is located in Stoos which is about an hour drive south of Zurich. Even on a cloudy day, the views were still amazing.

To reach the Fronalpstock Panorama Trail, start in the picturesque village of Stoos, accessible via the Stoosbahn, the world’s steepest funicular. You can drive to the valley station or take a bus from nearby towns. There is a parking garage at the station as well as uncovered parking in the surrounding area. Once in Stoos, walk to the Fronalpstock chairlift station, about a five-minute stroll from the village center. Two chairlifts will take you up to the summit at 1,922 meters.

The Fronalpstock Panorama Trail is a 1.5 km loop that is family-friendly. The path is mostly flat with gentle inclines and declines. It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, offering stunning views of Lake Lucerne and surrounding peaks. The trail begins near the playground which I recommend enjoying after the hike to conserve energy.

At the summit, you’ll find a restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying local cuisine while soaking in breathtaking views. There’s also a playground for children featuring swings and climbing structures, as well as picnic areas. Don’t miss the observation deck for panoramic vistas.
