When the weather in Zug isn’t cooperating, the Freiruum Sport Hall offers indoor fun for everyone in the family, from toddlers to teens (and even adults). My kids get super excited whenever we mention a trip to Freiruum.

Spiilruum indoor soft playground is a dream come true for the youngest (2-7 years) with a large climbing tower, stack building blocks, slides for racing or jumping in the ball pit. Kids are required to have non-slip socks, but I find quickly my children take the socks off to get a better grip. For older kids (6+), they can bounce and jump to their heart’s content in the trampoline park. For those who love a challenge, the boulder area offers climbing walls, grottos, and more. More skilled kids can navigate walls, stairs, and railings in the parkour zone. After a few hours of running, jumping, and climbing, my kids are always happily exhausted! This is a popular spot for children’s birthday parties as there is so much fun for kids.

After all that activity, it can work up an appetite. Freiruum has a fantastic market hall with a wide variety of food stands. We’ve tried the pizza, tacos, sushi, and chicken – all delicious. With 14 different food stands, Freiruum has the largest street food selection in the Zug area. There are also plenty of drink options, from coffee to smoothies, wine, and beer. Weekends can get busy, so we prefer to visit in the mornings when it’s generally quieter. There are limited parking spaces in front of Freiruum, but there’s a large, uncovered pay parking lot across the street. Freiruum is a short walk from the Zug train station, making it easily accessible by public transport. Overall Freiruum is a fantastic option for family fun in Zug, especially when the weather isn’t ideal. With a wide range of activities and food options, it’s a place where everyone can find something to enjoy. We highly recommend it!
