We had a wonderful experience visiting Azienda Agricola Burzi Alberto, a family-run winery in the famous Barolo region of northern Italy. The winery is lovingly managed by siblings Alberto and Caterina Burzi, who have taken over their grandparents’ vineyards in La Morra, Piedmont, and transformed their family dream into reality. It was lovely to hear their story and see the family’s passion for their wines.
We booked a tour and tasting in advance with Caterina. While we learned about the vineyards and explored the historic wine cellar, our kids happily kept busy with their coloring books and the snacks we brought for them. The wines were exceptional, but our favorite was the single-vineyard Barolo Capalot.
There is parking in front of the modern tasting room, which offers beautiful views of the vineyards. This winery was our favorite of those we visited in the region, and we are already planning a return trip. Visiting Burzi Alberto was a blend of education, family fun, and delicious wine-highly recommended for anyone exploring the Barolo region!
