Family-Friendly Winery Visit in Barolo: Azienda Agricola Marrone Wine Tour & Lunch Experience

During our family trip to the Barolo region, we visited Azienda Agricola Marrone, a family-friendly winery in the area. I was able to make a reservation by email for a wine tour that included lunch. It was a nice, relaxing stop during our day to learn about local wines and to enjoy a delicious meal.

Winery Tour and Barrel Room

We started our visit with a guided tour of the impressive barrel room, where the kids were fascinated by the giant oak barrels. Marrone is a fourth-generation, family-run winery with deep roots in the Piedmont region, dating back to 1887. Today, the three Marrone sisters manage everything from winemaking to hospitality. After touring the barrel room, we enjoyed the views from the large terrace where the guide pointed out the various vineyards and explained how the different locations impact the taste of the wine.

Lunch with a View

After the tour, we enjoyed lunch in the winery’s restaurant. The menu featured regional dishes, and we were thrilled to find a dedicated kids’ menu-something not always easy to find. The food was good, and our table overlooked the beautiful rolling vineyards, offering breathtaking views of the countryside. During our meal, the adults sampled a selection of Marrone’s wines, while the kids were kept happy with their meals. There is parking available, but it is limited.

Azienda Agricola Marrone is a family-friendly destination where adults can taste Piedmont’s wines and everyone can enjoy a meal with beautiful views.
