Visiting Maison Zeyssolff in the Alsace region offers a wonderful wine tourism experience that combines history, education, and tasting in a warm, immersive setting. The Zeyssolff family, winemakers since 1778, welcomes visitors to explore their historic cellar, home to century-old oak barrels, and to taste their delicious wines.

We booked the family-friendly “Wine Tasting and Immersive Cellar Tour.” The tour begins with a kid-friendly introduction to wine production in the region. After the video, guests can ask questions and learn more. Our kids did not hesitate to ask questions, which the guide kindly answered. My son enjoyed this portion more than my younger daughter. After the video introduction, the group is brought into the cellar to view all the historic barrels. The highlight is an innovative 180-degree video projection on the wine barrels, which vividly brings the estate’s rich winemaking history and philosophy to life. At the end of the tour, we had our final tasting in the wine shop with some traditional Alsatian sweet brioche, kougelhopf. Throughout the tour, adults get to try a variety of wines offered by the winery. Our favorite wines were the Riesling and the Crémant d’Alsace (sparkling wine). We appreciated that the tour was family-friendly, so our kids could be engaged as well as ourselves.

There is free parking across from the winery. The wine tasting and immersive cellar tour at Zeyssolff is an educational and delicious exploration of Alsace’s winemaking heritage in a welcoming, family-friendly, and historic setting.
