If you’re looking for a family-friendly swimming destination in central Switzerland, Hallen- und Freibad Lättich in Baar is a great choice. It offers both indoor and outdoor pools, making it an ideal spot for year-round fun. Whether you’re seeking a place to splash with little ones, swim laps, or relax in the sun, Lättich has something for everyone.

Indoor Pools:
The indoor area at Lättich is bright and spacious, thanks to large windows that let in plenty of natural light and offer views of the outdoors. There’s a large main pool with two diving boards and a half-moon-shaped lazy area featuring relaxing bubble jets and a jacuzzi. The second pool is a shallow learning pool, with half reserved for the swim school—perfect for kids gaining confidence in the water. For the youngest swimmers, there’s a baby pool with a gentle slide and playful fountains. Serious swimmers will appreciate the large lap pool. All pools are heated, so you can enjoy a comfortable swim regardless of the weather.

Outdoor Pools:
During the warmer months, the outdoor area opens up and transforms into a summer paradise. The grounds are expansive, with a dedicated diving area, a lap pool, a children’s pool, and a lively splash pad featuring slides, squirt guns, and shaded spots for little ones. There’s also a large playground and a grassy area shaded by trees—perfect for laying out towels and relaxing. Our children’s favorite is the water slide.

Food Options:
When it’s time to refuel, there’s a self-service restaurant offering family favorites like pizzas, chicken nuggets, ice cream, drinks, and snacks. You’ll find both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can choose a spot that suits the weather. If you prefer to bring your own food, there’s a picnic area outside with BBQ grills available—just ask at the front desk about

Practical Tips:
Tickets are available at the entrance, with options for day passes, annual memberships, or discounted 10-entry cards (our personal favorite for flexibility and savings). There’s a large paid parking lot outside, and the pool is conveniently close to the “Baar Lättich” public bus station. Locker rooms for men and women include changing rooms and showers, and you can secure your belongings in lockers with a 2 CHF coin deposit. Be aware that the pools can get crowded on weekends, so plan your visit accordingly.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Hallen- und Freibad Lättich is a wonderful spot for families to swim, play, and relax together. Our kids always leave with big smiles and tired legs—a sure sign of a successful outing!
