Mira Mare Apartments and Suites in La Spezia was a wonderful find for our family getaway. This charming property offers ten beautifully furnished apartments and suites overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia, providing panoramic views and a perfect base for exploring incredible destinations like Cinque Terre, Florence, and Pisa. We booked connecting suites—a convenient arrangement for traveling with extended family, as everyone had privacy while still being close together.
Thoughtfully Designed Accommodations
Each apartment was tastefully renovated and featured a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher—an essential amenity when traveling with children. We appreciated the flexibility of preparing breakfast each morning and unwinding in the living area after busy days. Air conditioning kept the space cool on warm days, and the views of the Gulf were stunning. One of our suites had a separate bedroom and a sofa bed, which was ideal for families. The warm welcome set a lovely tone for our stay, with a thoughtful selection of local cookies and a bottle of white wine awaiting us. Staff were friendly and responsive, quickly resolving a booking issue and making sure we felt listened to and appreciated.
Convenient Amenities and Family-Friendly Features
Amenities at Mira Mare were a highlight. Free parking nearby made arrivals and departures easy, and we were able to unload right in front of our apartment. Worth noting: our Prima Superiore apartments were separate from the main building—providing extra privacy—but some units are located in the main building and are accessible only via stairs. For our kids, the favorite feature was the infinity pool with sweeping views of the Gulf. The pool was deep and lacked a shallow end for young children, but we brought a pool float, which proved helpful. Reaching the pool required walking down several stairs, but the dazzling scenery and tranquil setting more than made up for the extra effort.
On-Site Dining Convenience
A true bonus was the on-site restaurant, Al Settimo Cielo, conveniently located next to the hotel. After days packed with sightseeing, having delicious Italian dishes right on our doorstep was a treat. We often picked up pizza and pasta to enjoy in our suite, ending our days with great food and beautiful views.
