Discovering Nature’s Wonders at the Winterthur Nature Museum

Located in the heart of Winterthur, Switzerland, the Winterthur Nature Museum offers a fun journey into the natural world. This charming small museum is known for its interactive exhibits, providing visitors with a playful and informative experience that delves into the wonders of nature.

Unlike many Swiss museums, the Winterthur Nature Museum is affordable (children enter free and adults pay 5 CHF), making it accessible to a wide range of visitors. This smaller, two-story museum features interactive exhibits for children, several fossils, and many animal exhibits. My daughter enjoyed running around and pointing at the many animals she recognized. We also enjoyed the children’s area, which had stations for coloring and reading. There was also a fox that kids were allowed to touch, and a pretend fox hole to climb around in.

Plan for a visit of 1-2 hours. Strollers are not allowed in the museum. There is a locker room where you can leave strollers and coats before entering. There is a small café for snacks and drinks. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or just looking for a fun and educational outing on a rainy day, the Winterthur Nature Museum is a great destination.
