Alpamare in Pfäffikon is Switzerland’s largest covered water park, offering an exciting experience for the whole family. Located just 30 minutes south of Zurich, it features a tropical setting with palm trees and Mayan temple ruins, creating a summer atmosphere year-round. This is a great place to visit on poor weather days when the kids need to burn off energy.

Water Slides
At the park, there are 12 water slides with a total length of 2,100 meters, including the thrilling Jungle Run, which allows racing on two parallel slides. The slides offer varying degrees of difficulty and recommended ages. Some runs require one inner tube, two, or none. Stairs are located throughout the facility, with railings, and tubes are available at the bottom. We recommend bringing googles as the chlorine may irritate eyes. Everyone can find something to enjoy.

Swimming Pools
There is a large wave pool and outdoor heated pools with views of Lake Zurich. My children love the wave pool, which is kid-friendly with access via a gentle slope. Note that it can get crowded, especially on weekend afternoons. There is a seating area in front of the wave pool, but the chairs are usually taken quickly.

Toddler Area
While my older son loves the thrill slides, my younger daughter enjoys the toddler area with five slides and water play equipment. This area is less crowded and quieter, conveniently located next to the restrooms. The favorite is the three racing slides, which are a blast. My kids also love playing with the water guns and splash area. There is a seating area to relax, which is usually not crowded.

Restaurant
Inside the property is a self-service style restaurant, Restaurant Rio, offering grill foods like burgers, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets. The restaurant includes tables with baby chairs and offers nice views of the lake.

Locker Rooms
Entrance includes access to a locker room with changing rooms, lockers, and showers. Although it feels a bit crowded and lacks private showers, it works fine, and there is a baby changing area.

Tickets and Parking
Tickets can be purchased online or at the park. We prefer the four-hour ticket, as our small children are usually exhausted by then. Buying tickets online comes with a discount. The park is easily accessible by car or public transport from Zurich. There is a large parking lot, which can get crowded on weekends. Alpamare provides a fantastic day out for families looking for fun.
