Nestled in the heart of Zürich, the Hürlimannbad & Spa offers a unique and luxurious bathing experience that combines history, relaxation, and stunning views. The spa is housed in the vaults of the former Hürlimann brewery, where an impressive stainless steel pool surrounded by old stone walls creates an atmosphere that’s both industrial and relaxing. Photography is not allowed inside so photo credit to Hürlimannbad & Spa.

My husband and I visited one weekend without the kids. One of the highlights of our visit was undoubtedly the rooftop infinity pool. The panoramic views of Zürich’s skyline were simply breathtaking. Sitting on the bubble jet chairs in the warm water while gazing out over the city’s rooftops was a truly relaxing experience. Indoors, there are additional pools with more loungers and bubble jets. Children aged 4 and up can access the indoor thermal baths and rooftop pool.

For those seeking a more intensive wellness journey, the Roman-Irish spa ritual is a unique experience. Children are not allowed, and guests must be 16 years or older. This 10-step process combines elements from ancient bathing cultures. Guests travel through different stations, including a steam room, exfoliating shower, hot stones, and multiple pools of varying temperatures. It’s the only one of its kind in Switzerland, making it a standout feature of Hürlimannbad. Just be aware it can get crowded on weekends, so arriving early is recommended.

A selection of hot and cold snacks, as well as drinks, are available at the on-site bistro. There are many tables to relax and enjoy your treat. Food and drink are not allowed in other areas of the spa.

Tickets can be purchased online, which is recommended, especially on weekends when the facility can sell out. Towel and bathrobe were included with our tickets to the Irish-Roman bath. This experience is an additional charge and is not included with access to the indoor and outdoor thermal pools. Guests can also book other spa treatments like massages. Check their website for a menu of treatments. There are locker rooms to store your belongings and get changed. There is also a baby changing table.

There is no parking near the spa, so public transit is highly recommended. If you have a car, you can park at Parkhaus Sihlcity and then walk 10 minutes to the spa. Whether you’re a local looking for a quick escape or a traveler seeking a unique Zürich experience, Hürlimannbad & Spa is a great option. It offers a blend of history, relaxation, and stunning views that will leave you feeling refreshed.
